サイズ約縦17.3×横26×高7.7cm 取手含高24.5cm 作者山本貞斎作箱木箱　　（山丸/銀杏透/煙草盆-13大・85580）【コンビニ受取対応商品】煙草盆とは火入（ひいれ）、灰吹（はいふき）、煙草入（たばこいれ）、煙管（きせる）、香箸（こうばし）など、喫煙具一式を納めておく道具です。莨盆」とも書き、煙草盆、火入、灰吹、煙草入、煙管一対を、煙草盆一式あるいは煙草盆一揃などといいます。茶事においては、寄付、腰掛、席中では薄茶が始まる前に持ち出されます。濃茶席と懐石中には出しません。また大寄せの茶会では、最初から正客の席に置かれます。煙草盆に必ず備えられるのが、火入、灰吹で、千家では向って左に火入、右に灰吹を入れます。煙草入と煙管は一組で用いられ、用いる時は正式には煙管二本を煙草盆の前へ縁に渡して掛けます。武者小路千家では、その他に、灰吹の右に香火箸（香箸）を添えます。表千家では敷き紙をしますが、裏千家では敷きません。武者小路千家では火入の下にだけに敷きます。最初は、香盆を見立てたもので、香炉を火入に、?殻入を灰吹、香合を煙草入とし、盆の前に煙管を二本置くのは、香箸に見立てたものといいます。利休の時代には茶席では使われておらず、江戸時代に入り宗旦・遠州・宗和あたりから好み物の煙草盆が登場し、江戸後期に莨盆一具が茶事の道具として一般的になったといいます。形はさまざまで、大別して手付と手無に分けられます。唐物には蒟醤・青貝・漆器・藤組など、和物には唐木・漆器・木地・一閑張・篭などがあります。大名好みのものは、飾り金具、塗蒔絵、透し彫り、唐木彫りなどの等手の込んだ細工物が多いのに対し、茶人好みは桐や桑等の木地で形も簡単なものがほとんどです。【山本貞斎】京都市在住 1932年昭和07年生まれる　茶方専門指物師　指物師の父に師事して30有余年、現在2代目として活躍中　先に京都大徳寺　黄梅院の製作依頼を受けた際、太玄和尚より「貞斉」の号を授与された。
